not clear steps and users need to know where they are
lost of step need follow ux practice to decrease steps
form need follow Ui pattern
group field that related one task
lots of white space
Using more iconography and illustration to help readability and motivation
integrated the forms in a specific task
use less text
use more space of board
use grid system and mange context in whole of screen
more simple onboarding process
forms included UI pattern/UX functionality
Use friendly terminology so it’s clear to users what action they’re taking.

Research
● Lack of guidance and information when needed.
● Not feeling the joy of completion or moving forward .
● The process doesn't seem motivating or exciting.
● The process feels too long and is not easy to complete.
● Not feeling secure about the outcome or result of the effort.

Problem to solve
Few users in trial complete their task and always need sale support them.
The average time to complete tasks is not measurable.
The step of tasks are not clear.
Engage users to subscribe.
Folktale is a video platform for evaluation and communication teams to collect, analyze and synthesize unfiltered stories from diverse voices. Folktale for increasing Conversion rate and engaging users to platform need to create a simple and seamless onboarding journey for new users, and in doing so provide them with immediate value. To use the platform, the first thing a user needs to complete is account creation and then star onboarding journey.
It can be added and completed thanks to create workspace, create new project, invite teams and create first story by filling different steps.
The main pain points seemed to be:
Based on the research findings we can create a problem solving mental model.
There are different types of mental models. Im using the ¨first principal¨ model which basically consists of two steps:
1- Break the problem down into its fundamental parts
2- Reconfigure those parts to build a solution
Analyze
I know what the result will look like
combine sections with the progress bar
Why each field is necessary?
no option to see a sample
Visual hierachy spacing,alignment ,
Improve UI pattern and design system
no option to preview
there are many sub section and menus
the tone of the form is very serious
it doesn’t look modern
too many steps to complete each section
the progress doesn’t show how many setep should be pass (where user are)
What is the meaning of some fields?
What kind of description should I include?
Not progressing fast enough
Not motivating or exciting
Not motivating or excitingthere is no icon or visual elements
Not showing the outcome or result
Information Architecture
UI issue
not sure if I can skip and continue later
It’s not clear next step
There is not certain Homepage Flow
considering flow with scenario
create user Journey with all type of User
Lack of guidance and information
adding some info about why each field is necessary
explaning technical keywords when needed
having a tour guide l description to make it easier for user
show a sample of finished
include a preview option
include a flow of Homepage
Include the sub section directly in the flow
use a more friendly tone
use best practice for onboarding
use the icon directly inside the form
remove the unnecessary flow and reorder them
informed and guided flow
things are progressing fast
users feel motivated and exited
it feels efficient and easy
Lets review some of the insights gathered from the user testing and interview I conducted

Seeing too many required labels on form
segment of page with text
user don’t know what is next step” need encourage them”

Tutorial with lots of text which the user couldn’t distinguish related to which task
Tutorial out of task that maybe user couldn’t remember related to which field

Design Onboarding Journey
Mehzad Chavoshi

Define the test objectives: Clearly define the objectives of the test. What are the goals of the onboarding process, and how will you measure success?
Identify the testing methods: I choose remote usability testing for testing the onboarding process. but could use A/B testing, or surveys
Recruit participants who fit the target audience for the product.
Conduct the test: Administer the test and observe how users interact with the onboarding process. Collect both qualitative and quantitative data, such as user feedback and completion rates.
Analyze the data: Analyze the data collected during the test to identify areas for improvement. Look for patterns in the data that suggest issues with the onboarding process, such as high drop-off rates or user confusion.
Iterate and improve: Based on the findings from the test, make changes to the onboarding process to address any issues identified. Test the updated onboarding process to see if the changes have resulted in an improvement.
Repeat the process: Continually test and iterate on the onboarding process to ensure it is meeting the needs of users and achieving the desired objectives.
Step2- Identify key user tasks:
Once the target audience has been identified, it is important to identify the key tasks that users will need to perform with the product. . we should see how the user feels, thinks and interacts when trying the Folktale for the first time. In order to do that we should select and perform a combination of qualitative and quantitative user research methods. I chose two methods for this project:
Admin role : feeling frustrated that they quickly create workspace, setup project and able to invite other roles to workspace , also need to encourage to start create story invitation task.
Insight manger role: were feeling confused about whether they needed to accept for a role or not, how to join to workspace and when start to invite contributors to create their story .
Contributors role: felt confused by how accept invitation and start creating story, which need simplify process and task.
These are the three problem statements for each user:
● Moderated remote usability study : To understand WHAT users do, WHAT their pain points are.
● User interview : To understand WHY they do certain things, WHY they consider certain interactions as pain points.(used previous reports)
DESIGN PRINCIPLES

Design
I used Don Norman’s three levels of processing as the starting point to develop Folktale’s design principles, which focused on the goal of effective behavior change.
With our first iteration of designs sent out to customers for a review, we received solid feedback from them. The experience was much more consistent with what they were finding frustrating with the current process, with the results later showing the "time of task" to be reduced even further.
The only iteration change we made regard copy writing, , which made them available for other roles, and remove one step of tutorial for admin role.
We also surpassed our goals, and rearranged our future project goals based on the results from this project:
"task success" is now completed and don’t need calling sale.
account creation and create workspace is simple and accessible.
The app was made "mobile-first" for tablets, ensuring contributors would have priority of use.

Here are some best practices for designing an effective onboarding process:
Keep it simple: The onboarding process should be simple and easy to understand, with clear instructions and minimal steps.
Provide context: Provide users with context on why they should complete the onboarding process and how it will benefit them.
Use visuals: Use visuals such as icons and images to make the onboarding process more engaging and user-friendly.
Use progressive disclosure: Use progressive disclosure to gradually reveal information and functionality, rather than overwhelming the user with too much information at once.
Allow users to skip steps: Allow users to skip steps in the onboarding process if they are not relevant to their needs or if they have already completed them in the past.
Use clear calls to action: Use clear and actionable language in your calls to action, such as "Get started" or "Next."
Provide feedback and guidance: Provide feedback and guidance to users throughout the onboarding process to help them understand what they need to do and how to do it.
Test and iterate: Test and iterate on the onboarding process to identify areas for improvement and make changes based on user feedback.
By following these best practices, UX designers can create an onboarding process that is easy to use, engaging, and effective in helping users get started with the product or service.
Regenerate response
after prototyping MVP we tested it with users to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement. I plan process of test with this instructure
Test and iterate:
Step1- Identify the target audience:
It is important to understand the target audience for the product and their needs, preferences, and behaviors. This can be done through user interviews, surveys, and user persona development.
Encourage users in trial complete their task
Simplify tasks with guidance for all roles user.
Reduce the time of success task.
Keep the user inform.
Make it mobile first.
Key Objectives
Importance of clarity: It is essential to clearly communicate the purpose and benefits of the product to the user. A well-designed onboarding process can help users understand what the product does and how it can benefit them.
User-centric design: An effective onboarding process should be designed with the user in mind. UX designers need to understand their users' needs, preferences, and behaviors to create an onboarding experience that is tailored to them.
Simplicity and ease of use: Onboarding processes should be designed to be easy to understand and use. we should strive to create a simple and intuitive onboarding experience that guides users through the process.
Visual design: The visual design of the onboarding process can have a significant impact on the user's perception of the product.
Continual improvement: Onboarding is an ongoing process, and we should be prepared to iterate and improve the onboarding experience over time. This can involve gathering feedback from users and testing different approaches to see what works best.
